Reading the gold graph

2026-08-15

The gold graph is a story. Flat lines mean nothing is happening. Steep lines mean someone made a play. Your job is to figure out whether the play was a real advantage or just noise.

Slope matters more than total gold

A 3,000 gold lead that came from one clean team fight is stronger than a 3,000 gold lead built slowly from creep score, because the first lead comes with map pressure, summoner spell advantages, and tempo.

Look for reversals

The most important points on the graph are where the slope flips. A sudden drop usually means your team forced a bad fight or lost an objective. A sudden climb often means the enemy overextended. Queue your next game by asking what caused the last reversal.

Translate gold to map

Gold leads buy control. Use the lead to secure vision and objectives, not to chase kills. inflect.gg highlights the exact minute the graph turned so you can review the fight and the decisions that led to it.
